Hi.. I tried that, that was already the value and I had
about 20 of those errors when I came home tonight. Any
other ideas?

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

In the right pane scroll down to UIHost. Double click
it and type this in under Value Data: logonui.exe

Hello,

My Windows XP Pro was working fantastic until last night.
After it is "alone" for about 20 minutes it will come up
with numerous errors (event log is showing one about
every 10 minutes) saying that the Application Logon UI
has encountered a problem. When I check the event viewer,
this is what it says:

Faulting application logonui.exe, version 6.0.2800.1106,
faulting module logonui.exe, version 6.0.2800.1106, fault
address 0x00006ed8.

I have tried copying a new loginui.exe from another
working XP machine with no luck. Sometimes now when
logging in the system just hangs and has to be hard-
rebooted with just the hourglass showing. Other times it
will login successfully. Anyone have any ideas? If you
dont mind also copying your reply to (e-mail address removed)
I'd appreciate it.

Hi!

I know you will get a better suggestion from Kelly.
But I have a lttle suggestion for you.Sometimes trojans
also do the hell,have you checked that?
You have to change loginui.exe file in your 'system32'
folder in DOS mode.It must be done from DOS because Windows
has a system file protection thing which automatically
restores the system files when u delete them from within
Windows.
