Any news on SP2 and Athlon 64bit chips?

Just wondering if there has been any updates on SP2 and it not being
applicable to 64bit systems?
 
There very probably won't be a Service Pack 2 for WinXPx64 until
well after the OS goes Gold. After all, it's still in beta testing.

Thanks Bruce (This is for a friend) He has XP Home regular edition (SP1
I guess) and he's just wondering if his proposed 64bit chip upgrade might
negate updating to SP2
