Hi all............

My system has AVG and Blueyonders PCGuard suite
installed........................

Now, here's something............

AVG doesnt spot it but PCGuard comes up with a "Virus has been found
"message.................

Then when I run the scan neither pick anything up.......................

It says Virus name is .............W32/SecRisk-ProcessPatcher-based!Maximus

Infected File.....C:\System Volume
Information\_Restore{C770ABE-2-38C2-40BF-85F4-356385E348E 3}\RP135\A00

Has anyone any idea on what it is.......??

Is it just a false alarm??

I'm well and truly stuck........Any help gratefully appreciated...

Dave :)

That is the WinXP System restore cache. If you don't do a System Restore to a previous
period, it will eventually cache-out. Otherwise you can disbale the System Restore cache,
reboot the PC and re-enable the System Restore cache. That will fush all restore points and
flush out the malware found.

Thanks for the information.........

I think i'll leave it alone to eventually wear itself out. I don't think I
want to get rid of the restore points as I might need one (Fngers crossed I
wont tho)

As long as I know it nothing to worry about im ok with the alert.

Thanks again

Dave :)
