This question is for Win98. I tried post the issue in win98 groups, but it
it looks win98 groups is not supported anymore..
I'm connecting to new ISP.
Can no get internet in my windows-98 PC. Windows do not see modem.
Connection via broadband cable modem(share cable TV
signal and internet). Internet signal comes to modem, but looks that
windows98 do not see modem: Internet Explorer can no open any page; IE
browser status bar show 'Connecting to site: IP ... ... ....", but page not
loads. ISP engineer says internet signal is normal from their side. Ping is
working, even Outlook e-mail is working (account configured via POP3 server
from previous ISP provider). I tried reinstall IE - uninstall IE6.0 back to
IE5.5, this not help.
ISP provider just recommend replace windows 98 with win XP. Configuration
settings looks OK, include DNS. I tried also use Internet connection wizard,
but this not help.
Any ideas?
thanks.
