Any Decent free authoring programs out there

Hi i have been having some problems of late with Nero when i write to dvd, some of my Avi's keep coming up with Errors in Nero and won't complete the burn...:mad:

Have tried all kinds of things and everythings up to date but still keep getting errors so being a bit peeved with Nero i am wondering if anyone out there could recommend a good reliable program for encoding Avi's or any other format into a DVD that plays on most home DVD players....It's got to be a freebie though....

Any Ideas....

Someting for nuffin ... and make it perfect ... that's ME. :)

... so you have the perfect hardware, and Nero is at fault? Nero does everything I ask it. ;)
 
Muck's i'm not being funny or ow't, but i probably burn more dvd's in a week than you do in a year....


I know its Nero cause none of my other programs do it and i don't get errors with dvdclone or Viadvd, only Nero....Its completely up to date ver 6.6.0.16

I have deleted and reinstalled, it doesn't happen every burn just now and again for some strange reason....Thats why i,m interested in trying another authoring program...I know Nero as a whole is hard to beat so just thought i would put the feelers out and see if there are any other good suites out there i do not know about.....

Quite true, I use one DVD a month and 2 CD-Rs ... :thumb:

But we do see a rather lot of people complaining about "software" and not once mention what hardware is being used ... I am getting rather sarcastic in my old age, perhaps I need to slow down a little more. ;)
 
No Offence taken my man....I know what your saying Mucks...but i'm adamant its not my writer.....:p
