You keep repeating this, but it's *not* correct. There is still a free
version of AVG anti-virus available. There are also other Grisoft
products, with additional features, that are not free.

See http://www.grisoft.com/ww.home-and-office-security-comparison

Then explain this from the http://www.grisoft.com/ww.download-trial page:

Download AVG Trial Versions 30 days with full functionality
and support for free

AVG products are available for you to try as fully functional
products, with no obligation, for a period of 30 days. During
the trial period, you will have full access to all program
features as well as access to our Technical Support team.

How can it both "work for 30 days" and be "completely free".

From the page you listed, I now see that they have a free version.
However, their downloads page (the one I linked - and is more readily
found from their website) is confusing *AT BEST*. Surely you would have
to agree that reading the text I quoted *COULD* lead one to believe it
would quit after 30 days?

If you download the wrong version, you get the wrong message.
Why should anyone explain the wrong message?

If you look at the wrong place, you may not find what you want.

Yes, I agree that it's confusing, and understand how you get the wrong
impression. Nevertheless, they clearly *do* have a free version.
