antivirus??

Hi everybody,
my pc is an acer aspire 5920 and I have windows vista; as antivirus and
antispyware I used AVG free and in windows pack there was windows defender
antispyware.
Now I probably have a virus that has blocked AVG and windows defender and
any internet connection, so I can't use any on-line antivirus. There is
anything else to do instead to format system with acer procedure??
Thanks a lot.

hi, you might want to try scanning your computer from a bootable
antivirus cd. do you have one of those? if not, remember it as a
future reference. alternatively, download the portable application
suite from a friend's house or cybercafe:

and put it on your USB drive. then use the ClamWin antivirus from the
suite to scan your computer; unfortunately, i don't know how much help
this will be, but it's still worth a try.

if all fails you have to do a format. however, if you have valuable
data that you'd like to preserve, try to burn them on a cd or dvd if
you can; don't worry about them being infected for now, you can deal
with that when your computer's fixed and you have a good antivirus.

speaking of which, i think you need a new antivirus. read my reviews
to decide which one you want to go for:

<http://avscan.blogspot.com>

they're not too long or geekish, so that shouldn't be too hard.
you'll also be needing a good antispyware and firewall:

finally, computers often goof up due to unforeseeable reasons, so it's
best to save restore points or image files that you can just revert
to. read this:

hope this helps.
cheers!
