I have a problem , it doesn't matter which antivirus I install, I have tried Norton, McAffee, Panda & AVG. All have been installed in turn. None of them are able to access the Internet for automatic downloads. i can browse the Internet okay & also send e& receive e-mail through Outlook Express. I think there is a glitch somwhere in the Component Services or Computer Management in the Administrative Tools. Is there anybody who has experienced this problem, has a solution & would like to let me know how to overcome it. I would be extremely grateful for any help & assistance as it has me at my wits end

I have had this with Norton AV.
Your Virus netdetect has been corrupted. Delete that
You need to download and install the new liveupdate .exe file from norton or
whatever AV you have, then re-schedule a new netdetect task Then reboot
I did this using Norton and it worked for me
