Did Comcast provide software that installed McAfee on the computer? Or do they provide it as an
on-line service?
AVG will play okay with almost any other antivirus software, but I would never install two
antivirus software programs on the same computer. If McAfee is installed on the computer, uninstall
it after AVG is running. Be sure to disable it (turn it off) before trying to uninstall it. If
McAfee is provided as on-line service, just disable it.

You can't have two Anti-Virus operating in the same time on one operating
system.
Which she would like to escape the slowness of the operating system by
uninstall McAfee, so if she/Her desire then she need to uninstall the McAfee
and then Install AVG, she need a firewall though tell her.
BTW, Disconnect and do the above ( Uninstall then Install AVG to avoid
conflict or corrupt installation of AVG)
HTH.
