This solution is far from elegant, but you might want to give it a try -
assuming you have no other Symantec software installed.

Use the Windows file search function to find files as follows:

(1) Make sure you are searching all of C:
(2) In the "file name" box enter
*.msi
(3) In the "word or phrase" box enter
Norton
(4) Click SEARCH

If any files are found, then double click as one of these may uninstall NAV
Trial Version.

If no .MSI files are found, then I am as puzzled as you are as to why you
are getting the message "Installing Trial version over commercial one."

Most Norton "home style" product have an enhanced removal tool on
www.symantec.com web site. It is a known problem that most Norton software
does not remove themselves cleanly.

Please restate the current status.

Are you saying that when you try to install NAV you get the error message
"Installing Trial version over commercial one is not supported!"

If yes, then is it correct to assume that you are still trying to install
the trial version of NAV. Is this true?

If yes, is it also true that you cannot contact Symantec via phone or
e-mail? And you are not quite ready to purchase NAV. Right? The reason I ask
is because when you buy the product you qualify for support.

Have you considered running any registry repair tools - after deleting the
folder which the trial version creates?

For example, C:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus

In the past I have experimented with three registry cleaners; one is
Microsoft's and two are third party.

RegScrbXP eliminates all null and blank lines from the registry. This
significantly speeds up your computer. It can be downloaded form here

Microsoft's program is called RegClean.exe - this one came out in Windows 98
era and works great on Windows XP - this fixes Microsoft's acknowledged
SNAFUs.

Remember to launch the above two programs three times in a row, to get all
the problems out.

I also use RegCleaner to remove unwanted programs from the registry that are
not listed in add/remove programs.

Finally, ask a techie friend or a local computer store to remove all
references to NAV from the registry.

OK, I am out of ideas.

My personal favorite is "BUY NAV AND USE THEIR TECH SUPPORT FOR ANY INSTALL
PROBLEMS".

Good luck.
