antivirus conflict?

i can't activate zone alarm antivirus because it claims norton antivirus is
running. it's not listed in add/remove programs, and i can find no folders
or files from norton/symantec. presuming a false registry entry, how do i
find and eliminate it.

With lots of luck Norton is ok until you actually want to remove it
from your system without messing up Windows!

Search for and delete any Norton/Symantec directories (to include hidden)
and then run a registry cleaner.
