Anti Virus package

My McAfee package is soon to expire.

I want to replace it with a good free package.

I was thinking about Avast.

Any comments

Thanks

When you're ready to uninstall CraP-A-Fee, download and use Revo
Uninstaller. Google it. It's a free uninstaller that does an excellent
job. CraP-A-Fee leaves a ton of footprints behind. After uninstalling,
download Microsoft Security Essentials. It's also free.

species8350 Hi
I tried several of the free anti virus programs available and settled
for Avast. Am very happy with it's performance. You need to reactivate
the free version after 60 days but this is also free.

Strange, I've been using Avast for years and you have to re-register
after one year, not 60 days.

14K ain't what it used to be. ;p

You're an idiot. Why should one pay for something one doesn't need?

You're thinking in US dollars, but it's pesetas! :)

14,000 pesetas = $126 US, now worth about 84 Euros.

People pay you to install ubuntu.
Yep.

They don't need to.

LOL! False.
To make $14K/week, you gotta be charging $7000 per install.
You must be a hell of a salesman.
Or, I must not be the only idiot in the world. ;D

No, it's just that you don't know what you're talking about but pretend
you do with stupid guesses. You will never know what my main business is
but I assure you it isn't installing Ubuntu or Windows.

More stupid guesses:

Sell Drugs.
Get paid to use ubuntu.
Collect welfare under 40 assumed identities.
Print your own currency, then spend it where the proprietors don't see so
well.
Just make up an income level, its USENET after all.

Not even close.

We haven't had pesetas here in almost nine years.

Got any more ill informed ignorance you want to post?

If you're going to reply to an obvious joke, at least switch on your
sense of humor first. LOL

So, how long have you been posting in MS newsgroups when you don't even
use MS products? If you haven't figured it out by now, after all these
years, then maybe you should reconsider you alleged contributions.

Advocacy is frowned on by most news server owners and admins, and many
ISPs, in several countries. In many cases, it can get accounts
canceled, or IPs banned/blocked. Here, it just gets you yelled at, lied
about, called names, ridiculed, and joked about.

I prefer humor to personal attacks. It's more fun and it rarely results
in idiotic flame wars. That's why I had to leave these groups for a
while. I just had to avoid the fools that are only here to badmouth
other posters. (Kevin's stalker and Frank, among others.)

So, before you call my *jokes* "ill informed ignorance" again, take a
step back and try to see the humor, okay?

Good plan! Avast will not only save you money, it's also a
considerably better anti-virus program than McAfee. Another good
choice is Avira.

Someone claims to make $14k a week but has the need to be a PC technician
and install, troubleshoot, and charge clients to work on their PCs? If it
doesn't sound reasonable it isn't.

If I made $14k a week, I wouldn't be a PC technician. Neither would you.
You are a liar.

One Year. Avast's free licence must be renewed once a year. Not 60
days.

You really should be trying to help those sorry sacks in the Ubuntu forums.
Oops, you don't know anything about Ubuntu. That's why you lurk here.
