Anti-spyware Products

Rick

I have a question. I installed and I am running the new
Mircosoft product on my XP system. I am doing the real time
scans and keeping it up to date. I have noticed that the
first time I ran it it found 10 threads detected on the
first run. That number has not changed since the day I
installed the product.
I also have on my PC Ad-Aware SE Personal, Spy Hunter, and
SBC Yahoo Anti-Spy. What I notice is that even running the
Microsoft product the other products are finding problems
that Microsoft is not stopping.
Is there any one product that stops all Spyware or do
vendors look at different things to scan that other vendors
don't think are important?

Thanks,
Rick

You should consider removing the threats that Microsoft Antispyware detects.
In general, these are significant--represent code running on your machine,
or, in some cases, remains from such code running in the past.

Microsoft Antispyware, in this build, does not scan for cookies. This
represents much of the difference in simple comparisons with other products.

At this stage in time, the best wisdom offered by reviewers and experts is
that multiple products are still necessary. I believe that the intent with
this product is to improve on that, but I can't say that it is there yet.

Here's one source which gives quite a bit of useful information about this
situation.
