Another major login problem.

exactly as an earlier poster but with XP Pro my desk top last
night...downloaded mail , latest McAfee ISS updates then it announced
that it had downloaded Security updates from MS. and re booted.....

Now it boots to user login screen and the asks for password in new
box. Same for both users( no password was ever set, machine is 2
months old and hardly used. Admin is also asking for password. also
was never set.

After bad day with the lap top ( full system crash and re install) i
have now tried to overinstall xp again system will not get past XP
screen with blue bar where it hangs..

Is this some new virus.....

Having the same problem, you arent the only one. Are your user profiles still
listed on the welcome screen or is it just the standard login box? Can you
get into safe mode? Ive been unable to get into safe mode and cant even get
recovery console to start because it is asking for the adminstrative password
when there is not one, because I just reinstalled about 6 months ago when i
had this same problem.
