Another Form to e-mail question

Ok, I've progressed a little further now. I un-installed my FP extensions,
and re-installed them. Now, I'm able to submit my info and get a
confirmation page.

My problem is I am still not getting the e-mail sent to me. I've checked
the coding, I've called godaddy.com, and I've uploaded via http with
FrontPage, but I'm still not getting my forms sent to me. Please help me out.
I'm so close, I can feel it.

For those wanting to check it out, visit www.baileylove.com click on
"Pre-Need," and at the bottom of that page, click on "online pre-arrangement
form" and that's the form that isn't being sent to me.

Thanks in advance!

1. Remove all spaces (%20) from all file and folder names.
2. You may need to use an email address that is associated with your domain, as in:

emailname @ baileylove .com

and not

emailname @ sbcglobal .net

Without any spaces in the email address.

GoDaddy must also configured the extensions on their end to process email from FP forms.

Just curious, why remove the spaces from the file names?

I contacted godaddy.com and they support e-mailing to my sbc account

Not vaild HTML and will fail in some browser causing users to receive a 404 Page Not Found Error .

It they support it, then you should be receiving email from the form. The problem might be the fact
that you are using frames to redirect http://www.baileylove.com to http://www.baileylovemortuary.com
and this may be why you are not receiving email.

Which domain is the FP extensions apply to:
http://www.baileylovemortuary.com/
or
http://www.baileylove.com

Ok, try your form directly from http://www.baileylovemortuary.com

Still not working as of yet...and I went directly to baileylovemortuary.com.
Any more ideas?

Ok. open http://www.baileylovemortuary.com directly in FP, open the form, make delete your email
address, save and close the form, then run Tools | Recalculate Hyperlinks, then re-open the form,
add your email address back, save and close the form, then run Tools | Recalculate Hyperlinks. Close
FP and open the form in your browser and test.

Make sure that you are always access the site via http://www.baileylovemortuary.com when using FP to
edit live or publishing, since this is the domain with the extensions.

I did as you wrote. I cleared my e-mail address, saved the form, closed the
form, calculated hyperlinks, re-opened form, re-entered my e-mail address,
saved, closed, re-ren hyperlink calculations, opened up
baileylovemortuary.com and still no go.

When I'm uploading information, I click on "Publish Website,"
FrontPage/Sharepoint Extensions, and upload it to http://..... something else
I'm doing wrong that you see?

Rename your form to remove the periods:

OnlineP.A.Form.htm

to

OnlinePAForm.htm

Have you tried using a different email address, one that is associated with your domain,
baileylovemortuary.com?

I'll let ya know if it's still not working.

Still no go. GoDaddy says everything on their end looks good. I was going
to call Microsoft Tech Support, but I'm not gonna pay $35.00. So, any other
ideas?

Try this directly on http://www.baileylovemortuary.com, create a new feedback form, using the
defaults with your email address.

I did the feedback form as stated under "Coming soon" (just below the
hyperlink to the other page). Still nothing...

Ok, remove the email address from either form, and have the form write the results to a file in the
_private folder.

The open the file in notepad (text editor) in FP in the _private folder, did the data get written?

Just curious, how do you write the results to a file? I know I've already
got the _private folder, but how do I set it up under form properties?
Thanks!

T

Thomas A. Rowe

Under Form Properties, just enter a text file name, such as: _private/paformdata.txt

Ok, under the Form properties, I clicked "Send to: Filename
(_private/feedback.txt).

No e-mail address under form properties anywhere. So is this how it's
supposed to be set up? And if someone fills it out, will it automatically
get overwritten, or just keep saving them all? and I also need to keep
downloading the _Private folder from the web to get the results correct?

Thanks!

The data should keep being added to that file for each form completed.

If writing to the file works, then the email issue is really with your web host and the processing
of email from the FP extensions.

Awesome, it worked. I just will have to keep checking that private folder to
see about any updated information. Real quick, how do I do a nicer
confirmation page? Just build another page, save it, and then link it as the
confirmation page under form properties of my online form page? Thanks!
