Another Dpi Setting?

Is there another DPI setting somewhere other than under display > advanced?
My wife's tablet PC is set to "Normal 96 DPI", but for some reason certain
icons (like the notification icons) are larger than they should be-and look
badly scaled up.
Also, her font size is set to normal. I can't seem to find any setting any
where to fix this. Any help would really be appreciated.

Check Display Properties > Appearance > Effects > [ ] Large Icons
