anonomous update window

Starting about three weeks ago a small window pops up
several times a day stating a new update has been
installed and it has two buttons OK / Cancel.

How can I find out what is generating this window?

It's probably Windows Update. You probably have your system set to
automatically download and install updates on a regular schedule.

scan your system with latest definitioned antivirus as well
as with spyware.
