Annoying certificate message

Every time I start Outlook, it gives me the following message:

"The server you are connected to is using a security certificate that
could not be verified.
A certificate chain processed, but terminated in a root certificate
which is not trusted by the trust provider.
Do you want to continue using this server?"

I then say "yes," and everything is OK.

Is there a way to turn this message off?

I am using Outlook 2003, Windows XP pro on a Dell D420 Latitude
laptop.

Contact the server administrator and bring the problem to his/her attention and have them get an updated certificate.

I don't think the server is the problem. Rather, it only happens when
I tell Outlook to check my university email account. With gmail there
is no problem. Both account say they use an encrypted connection
(SSL).

Any thoughts?

I don't have a server administrator, so I'll have to do it myself.

A perfect example of why hijacking a thread never works. Do you get the
invalid certificate message

"The server you are connected to is using a security certificate that could
not be verified. A certificate chain processed, but terminated in a root
certificate which is not trusted by the trust provider. Do you want to
continue using this server?"

? If not, then this thread has nothing to do with what your issue may be.

If none of the above applies to you, then you need to start your own thread
and not hijack another one and expect the answers provided to the OP to
apply to you.

I can't understand the sharp tone of your response. Lay people aren't
going to understand that similar symptoms may arise from very different
causes. When that happens, all you have to do is say so. It's uncalled for
to accuse the poster of having "hijacked" someone else's post.
