Hi. I'm running XP and have downloaded trials of
AdSubtract, MessageSubtract SpySubtract. I run Norton
Antivirus and keep my updates current. I have gone to
add/remove on my PC and removed any suspicious programs. I
regularly run virus scans. I am running on a cable DSL
connection. For the past 2 weeks or so (since 07/15) I
have been receiving an annoying window that pops up when
I'm using IE, whether for mail or for surfing. It varies
between full screen size and about quarter-screen size.
Sometimes it will have a title of "www.680180.net/ads/?
VFJDSz0xMzA4 - Microsoft Internet Explorer" at the top but
the window itself is blank except for the words, "Ad Block
by AdSubtract". Other times the same window comes up but
with the title only of "-Microsoft Internet Explorer".
I can easily close these windows by clicking on the x, of
course, but they continue to pop up intermittently and if
I don't close the first one (for instance, I'm away from
my desk), they keep piling up to about 5 or 6 in number.
They don't lock my machine up - they just obscure whatever
web page I happen to be on at the time. Any help here?
Thanks.
