I've created my own animated gif and inserted it into Powerpoint.I only want the animation to run once.Is there a way I can do this?

Whatever software you used to create the animated gif....somewhere in that software you can set how many times to gif
will loop. Set it to none or 0 or 1

In PowerPoint 2000 the GIF will always loop however it is set when created.
In PowerPoint XP it will behave as created.

Are you using PowerPoint 2000? It ignores the switch in the GIF that says
how many times the animation is to be played and will always loop it
continuously. This was fixed in PowerPoint 2002. The only work around that
I'm aware of is to convert the GIF to an AVI - -

Sorry, did not see original post. More important is what version of PPT is
being used. Not all versions recognize the Gif headers and will only loop
endlessly.
