Animated GIF in Powerpoint 2003

I am trying to import an animated gif file into Powerpoint 2003 slide.
However, it is always imported as a normal (nonanimated) picture. Even when I
use Insert, Movie it still imports it as a normal pic. How do I get the
animation to actually run in the Slideshow?
 
You are probably going to need to edit the animated GIF. By the way, the
correct and only way to insert them is to use Insert > Picture > Picture from
file. They are not movies.

PowerPoint 2003 is not playing them because the loop flag is set to zero. See
