animated gifs won't move

I used to be able to view and insert animated gifs into my PowerPoint 2003,
however, now I can no longer view gifs on the internet or in PowerPoint. I
enabled
everything in the security option but the animated gifs still won't work.

Does anyone have a tip what happened and what I need to do in order to see
the animated pictures again?

Hi Nicole,

In PowerPoint go to Help| Check for updates. There was something funny on
PowerPoint 2003 about gifs, afair. Please let us know if that fixes it.

I know...but it doesn't work in slide show!

the animated gifs will work in Slide Show only

in IE, either.

Do you have a hardware accelerator? Some of dial up hosts offered this to
help speed up the Internet connection. One of the things the hardware
accelerator does is disable animated gifs.
