Animate Windows when Minimizing and Maximizing

Kevin

I notice that when Windows XP is first installed, windows animation when
minimizing and maximzing is very smooth. After some software is installed,
the animation becomes choppy or doesn't work. Its annoying, so I just turn
off the animation. Why does it stop working?

It isn't caused by lack of RAM. I have a lot of RAM, 768 MB .

thanks, Kevin

As you said that this happens after you install software, the first thing I
would do is take a look at what's running in the background. The animation
process has a lower priority than pretty much everything else, so if a
running process needs to do something while the animation is occurring, it
will get choppy.

You can see what's running by using task manager.
