Animate Windows When Minimizing/Maximizing Question

I noticed that when Windows XP is first installed, windows animation when
minimizing/maximizing is pretty smooth, but after a while, becomes choppy
and flickering. Why is this, and is there a way to fix it, besides turning
the animation off?

Probably the malware running in the background consuming CPU cycles.
Scan for nasties an remove the problem AdawareSE (freeware) from
www.lavasoft.de is one helpful program.
