“An Internal Application Error Has Occurred”.

Whenever I try to open Windows Media Player and some new computer games,
I get the message, "An Internal Application Error Has Occurred".

I have tried to run the regsvr32 jscript.dll and regsvr32 vbscript.dll
and after each of these I promptly received the message, that
DLLRegister Server in jscript and vbscript succeeded.

What should I try next to resolve this??
