"An error occurred trying to create the log file"

I get that message on boot-up, & 2 when I tried using HP Support:"PluginInterface failed to initialize" & "Error while initializing plugin Manager". Also, when I try doing a live update for Norton Antivirous, it now tells me that I don't have sufficient rights to the machine (Code LU1815) . HELP !
 
The Instant Support plugin is not a standard item. It's added by HP/Compaq in their systems and helps their customers reach the Instant Support services from HP. Better contact HP support to fix this plugin error. For the Live Update error, Symantec has few KBs addressing that issue:
