AMD64 vs.P4-64 bit

Alon, I think that's true regarding older P4's. Not sure about the newer
Dual Core P4's.

I've read that AMD Athlon 64-bit provides full backward compatability with
32-bit OS's-software.
But Intel P4-64 bit provides limited one.
Could anyone explain that.
Does it mean that when we talk about 64-bit CPU's it's more practical for
end user to stick with AMD (as of now)?

This is incorrect. Perhaps you are thinking of Intel's other 64-bit
CPU, the Itanium.

Could anyone explain that.
Does it mean that when we talk about 64-bit CPU's it's more practical for
end user to stick with AMD (as of now)?
