I have somehow cleared the checkbox in the Always ask before opening dialog box and I can't get it back. Could someone tell me how to reset this feature please!!!!

If you are referring to when you put a new CD in and the menu pops up then you need to right click on your CD drive under My Computer, go to properties, auto play then select the radio button "Prompt me each time to take an action"

Hopefully some context information would help
I guess that you mean when openning a file. You can regain access to that
window by right clicking a document and selecting "Open With->Choose program

BTW, what kind of ethics rule these newsgroups mates. Doesn't anyone reply wit
a "thanx it worked "/"Bad luck it didn't work" post

Hope this helps

In Windows Explorer go to Tools, Folder Options, File Types. Locate the entry for the file extension in question and highlight it. Click the Advanced button. Check Confirm open after download.
