Alternatives to remove spysheriff

Hi,
The spyware stayed on my machine for months and still couldn't be removed. I
have PC-cillin 2005 and the machine was run in safe mode, the hard drive did
not respond when I tried to click to detect any spyware. It couldn't remove
it when in normal xp mode because that file was inside the "system volume
files" directory on my C Drive. I also have spyware doctor (trial version),
spy sweeper (trial version) and spybot + ad-adware free edition. Any help
would be greatly appreciated!

And also, does anyone know any places that offer free web space?
Thanks
Jack

I really wouldn't recommend any one use the Cleanup! program.

It lookes for directories named "temp", or "temporary", regardless of where
they are on your system and deletes them without prompting. The program
infers it looks for "temp" directories created by programs during install
routines, but it can't differentiate between user created ones.

So if you have a working directory on the E: drive called temp, where you
put all your family photos till you have sorted them, they will be deleted
without prompting.

hth.

To me this just seems like bad programming.

Hi,
I tried to boot another copy of Windows XP on another partition. That folder
still could not be deleted from the infected partition. I don't want to
install that many pieces of software because I'm afraid that they might be
bogus. Are there any other good one-stop solution (tools) that is suitable
for my situation?
Thanks
Jack
