ALT+TAB mini window won't go away

There are certain circumstances which I don't yet know how to
duplicate, that reult in the mini-window for the task switcher
staying on screen, and staying on top. Task switching then still
works, but the mini window will not go away.
The only clean workaround is to reboot.

How can I make the mini window go away? Or kill the mini window
process?

Multiposted.

No, I accidentally posted it to the win2k group. I posted a
reply *there* saying that. Now that you've called attention to
it, why don't you post a helpful answer? Or was your only goal
to criticize?

"Accidental posting" is probably not the correct description
since you signed your post in the Win2000 group with
"A win2k user". Sounds more like a well-planned post.
Are you now a Win2000 or a WinXP user?

Most respondents will refrain from replying to a multi-posted
message. The reason is simple: It causes duplication of effort
and is therefore a waste of everyone's time.

Peeking past my filters, I noticed that Mr Pegasus had a
pedantic fit, and as usual refrained from posting any useful
replies. I conclude that it is safe to keep him or her in my
killfile.

Now, does anyone have any information on the persisitent
mini-window and how to get rid of it?

When you next lift your filter for a microsecond, please pay
attention to a couple of things:
- Other respondents are equally disinclined to respond
to your multiposted item.
- Check some of my fairly frequent replies to single-posted
queries in this and other newsgroups, e.g. the one titled
"ntoskrnl.exe and hal.dll error on startup". I try to assist
if possible but I do not care to waste my time on multiposts.

"Pegasus" continues to post knowingly dishonest messages, even
after having it explained that I accidentally posted my question
to the win2k group, realized it shortly thereafter, posted a
retraction there, and then posted my question to this group. My
posting history on this group verifies that I am currently a
winxp user and formerly a win2k user (see my post of 4/12/2007,
Pegasus).

I now doubt that Pegasus really has an MVP except in his or her
fantasies. If I were a holder of an MVP, I would have cautioned
"Pegasus" that a true professional MVP does not make knowing
dishonest statements on usenet, and does not post solely for the
purpose of belittling others. Looking to the replies that
"Pegasus" has posted to some of *my* other posts in *this*
group, he or she has not been helpful there either. Since he or
she continues to scream "multipost", I would guess that MVP
means "Most Vacuous Pomposity" in Pegasus' case.

Now, if a *real* MVP could show Pegasus how an MVP behaves in a
public newsgroup, and post information about my question about
the sticky mini-window for ALT TAB, I would be most
appreciative.
