Alt+PrintScreen

I have projects to do that require screen shots of
certain results. Using the Alt+Printscreen isn't working.
When I press ALT key, the File, Edit, View, etc options
in the menu bar get selected. How do I alter the keys to
stop that from happening and to allow me to do the
printscreens?

ignore the button highlight and proceed with holding alt
key and press prtscr key. only the file button should
highlight. might try opening new window.

Press Alt + PrintScr of the screen shot you want. Then
open a graphics editor such as XP's Paint and click Edit
and Paste - that's it!

Greetings --

Pressing the <PrtScn> key copies the entire display to the
clipboard. Pressing <ALT>+<PrtScn> copies only the active Window to
the clipboard. To view the screen capture, open a graphics program,
such as MS Paint, and press <CTRL>+V. This will paste the contents of
the clipboard (your screenshot) into the open file, and allow you to
view it or save it as a file for later use.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I had just recently
installed XP Pro at home and was trying to past the
screen shots into NotePad. I think that is the issue at
hand. I will just have to paste it into Paint and print
it from there, and do my other stuff from word pad until
I get Office XP. Once again, thanks everyone.

Paste your screen shots into the "wordpad" (.doc)
document along with your text. Wordpad is cheap(free)
version of Office Word.

If you have Microsoft Works in All-programs the "Works
Word" is also used for screen shot paste.

Notepad is just for text (.txt) no graphics.

You should be able to paste both text and graphics into word pad. you
don't have to use paint, unless you want to use it to edit the graphics.
