All Ports Missing Windows won't recognize plug and play hardware

I just installed a lagitimate copy of windows xp pro. Xp pro w/ service pack
2 from eDirect along with 3 other discs.
x64 addition (What's this for?)
Tablet PC edition (I guess for a laptop?)
and Windows Rights Management software which I installed but have no idea
what it does?
Now after installing the OS software I discover the printer and zip drive
don't work. It's like the system doesn't see the USB ports at all. When I
plugged in a digital camera it didn't say new hardware found.

Any one knows what up with this and how to fix it??

Matthew - Let me get this straight : you installed 1. Windows XP SP2, 2. X64
Addition and 3. TabletPC?
You received no warning/error dialogue - AND - your computers boots? into
what OS?

No, Sorry I offered too much information... I received 4 dsks. The ones
marked tablet and x64 I DID NOT install. - I assume these are for different
platforms??

I did install the OS xp pro with service pack 2 included on one disc.

I also installed Windows Rights Management Services -- I don't know what
this software does?

So now my problem seems to be none of my USB ports seem to work. It doesn't
show my printer or my external iomega 100 mb drive in Device Manager even
after telling it to search for added hardware.

Respectfully,

Matthew

Thanks for the interest to all but I have fixed the problems by installing
