all of my icons have lost their....

all of my icons have lost their image. they all look like a white peice
of paper with a weird little blue framed window with little icons in it.
my desktop icons, my folder icons, all of em, what happend? how do i
fix this? also how do i do a system restore if i wanted too?

i think i havea "Lost Icon Image Properties" problem.
 
To clear and reset icon cache:
Right click on the desktop, select Properties, Appearance, Advanced. Now using
the item drop down box, choose Icon. Change the pixel number by one. OK all the
way out.

Make sure you download the correct one for your system.

Dude, you are the man, you rock, thank you so much, i have now learne
something new. any idea how my problem happend in the first place?
the only thing i did before hand was download a CD-Crack for a game o
mine. (no im not a pirate)

Please your problem is fixed, perhaps you should also learn about the other
nasties around like spyware, malware, etc that can cause problems such as
unexplainable behaviour.
