all my games crash

Need severe help!! All of my current games crash in
Windows XP home edition. One particular error message
states " The device,\device\ide\ideport 1, did not respond
within the timeout period". Can someone please help
because of course I purchased an oem version from a local
store and they are totally worthless fixing the problem.

Can we get the machine specs from you. Sounds like a hardware issue but
uncertain without more infomration about your machine. The easiest is from
the Run window type "DXDIAG" this will give you most of the information
needed to see what is going on. Save all the data and attach it to a
response. I will take a look and see if I can identify what is going on.
Have you added any patches to your OS recently? Where they working before
and now not work? Anything additional infomration will be helpful on trying
to figure out what is going on.
