All email files are gone. Windows Mail seems to have been deleted or something and now wants to start over. Are there hidden and saved files somewhere. I don't mind restarting but can I get my inbox, sent folder files back, plus the contacts?thanks in advance for anyone that can help

Do you still see the folders list, even if there are no folders left on it?
If Local
Folders appears and has a triangle to the left of it, click on the triangle.

If the folders list doesn't appear, click on View, then Layout. If there is
no
check mark in the box before Folder List, click on this box, then Apply.
Click on OK.

If the toolbar including View doesn't appear, hit the Alt key on your
keyboard.

Folders appear but no triangle. If the folders list doesn't appear, click on View, then Layout. If there is no check mark in the box before Folder List, click on this box, then Apply.Click on OK. Went thru that process to no avail. If the toolbar including View doesn't appear, hit the Alt key on your keyboard.  Toolbar including View does appear.

I followed the path where they are supposed to be stored in Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail and there is no AppData file.

Your messages are very hard to read.

Please reply to the post you are answering rather than yourself.

Yes, you do have AppData. You have not set Windows Explorer to show hidden
files and folders and not to hide protected system files.

Go to Control Panel (Classic View), Folder Options, View, select
"Show hidden files and folders"
This will make AppData visible.
