AIW X800XL - video capture?

Is it possible to capture a video from a DVD disc to my HD?
If so can you explain the steps?
Thanks.

Maybe but if it has Macrovision copy protection the AIW, most likely,
won't.
Just connect a DVD player to the AIW's composite or S-Video port and click
Record in the TV app. What capture setting you'd use would depend on what
quality you want versus file size.

digitalfaq.com has about everthing you'd want to know about capture with
an
AIW.

Makes a lot more sense to rip the files from the DVD. They're already
digital. I've used the free program DVD Decrypter to put a couple of discs
on my home network. No quality loss. The 2 I did were easier than capture
but not all encryption is the same. YMMV

OK, thanks for the info, I'll run down that link.
Its the *Rush in Rio* DVD that has an easter egg video (Anthem from 1975 -
excellent) on it (you have to know the code to view it) and when I copied it
to my HD it was distorted.
I tried to rip it various ways and always got the *copyright* error.
I also have a stand alone DVD player I can connect to the AIW.
Thanks.
