AIW: What MPEG settings to use for capping tv to burn to DVD?

Using ATI mediacenter I am wondering what settings I should use to
capture a 2 hour movie being shown on TV. I would like to burn it to
DVD when I am finished.

At full quality DVD (720x480) a half hour show I have found makes a
file size of about 1.8 gig. So doing the math at those settings a 2
hour movie won't fit on a DVD. So here is my question, where can I
cut back in order to get the best quality and end up with a file
inside the 4.7 gig limit of the DVD?

Also as far as the settings for audio go, what is the difference
between regular PCM audio and LPCM audio? I have done all my capping
with PCM so far. Does LPCM result in a smaller file size?

I'm not too sure of the audio part of the question, but I've been
using the MMC 8.9, using the DVD-High (8meg/sec, motion estimation
quality set at 100, 224kb/sec audio, VBR), setting to record Survivor
every week. Immediately after, I use tmpgencDVDAuthor to edit out the
commercials and it then creates the vob, ifo's, etc in a VIDEO_TS
folder and then I burn with nero. In tmpgencDVDAuthor, you can adust
the bit-rate, resolution, audio bit-rate, etc to make it fit onto your
blank dvd. Or just choose auto-setting.
The quality is outstanding, even while using the original aiw radeon.
9600xt AIW soon.
