Reording TV shows

I have and AIW 9000 pro that I use to records TV shows. It works very well,
but sometimes I want to burn them to a DVD and watch them on my TV. I have
Nero 6 and copytodvd. what would be the best setting to record a TV show so
when I burn it, it will not take so long. Nero wants to transcode everything
and it takes 3.5 hours to burn a two hour movie. Thanks, Lanny.

I have an AIW 9700 Pro I use as my VCR. I watch the shows from the MMC file
player on my TV hooked to the AIW s-video output.
Capture mpeg2 full DVD presets will alow Ulead Moviefactory to burn a DVD in
less than 1 hour.

Install NeroVision Express 3 (a separate download from Nero 6, but
should work with the same serial), and set its "SmartEncoding" feature.
Record to MPEG-2/DVD format and use those files in NVE, and it will
only transcode if/when it needs to (which shouldn't happen at all, and
should reduce transcode time for a two-hour movie to about 20-30 minutes).

I did what you said. It always wants to transcode and it still says it will
take 3.5 hours. This may be because it always wants to add a title to the
movie. Is there a way to burn the movie just like it is without adding
anything. Maybe it would burn faster??? Thanks for your response.---Lanny.

On the "Select Menu" page of the wizard, the pulldown at the top-right
by default contains "Title and chapter menus" - pull it down and select
"Do not create a menu".
