AIW 2006 TV Problem

D

David Mayer

My AIW 9800 finally gave up the ghost, so I bought an AIW 2006 and am unable
to get the TV going. Always get the "TV failed to initialize error." My
old AIW was working with older drivers (wouldn't work with newer ones) and
the new card doesn't produce TV with either drivers that came on disk or
with the newest downloads from ATI. I've spent 3 days and countless reboots
on this to no avail. Anybody have any suggestions? TIA

same card as me and os I use the original cd so far none of the
updated drivers have ever worked for me in fact yesterday i updated
the driver and the tv would not work so I rolled back.
I use driver version 6.14.10.6534 from 4/14/2005
is this one you have tried?

Yes, I just installed the oldest driver I could find--the version 6.14 along
with version 9.08 of the MMC and the TV is now working, not perfectly but
better than the old "TV failed to initialize" error message.

unsolicited advice as follows
use vlc to play the tv this will allow you to more easily configure
things like cache length plus the added bonus of allowing you to
stream tv to other clients on your lan
