Aftermarket ink for HPs (again)

R

Richard Steinfeld

I'd like recommendations from everyone who has had recent positive
experiences with aftermarket ink for HP inkjets. I'm using these printers:
HP 850c
HP 940c.

The 850 takes #41 3-color and #45 black. The 940 uses #78 3-color and
#15 black.

I'm interested in good refilled cartridges, as well as sources of
excellent raw ink, and good refill kits.

Thanks in advance, and thanks, too, to the one or two folks who already
gave an answer. I want to get it all in one place; it'll help anyone
else who needs these solutions for similar printers.

The issue is specifically good ink for HP printers (as opposed to good
ink for Canons, Epsons, etc.). My best web source for info is devoted to
Canons, so that's why I'm asking about HPs. If I'm being a little
redundant, please understand.
-------------------------------------------------------
I've recently ordered refilled cartridges from InkGrabber. The prices
seem rock-bottom and the quality is very satisfactory (so far); color
seems to be a dead match to OEM. No clogs, worked perfectly right out of
the boxes. Reasonable shipping charge -- but my only complaint were
their cheap cruddy packing, and slightly dirty cartridge exteriors --
they cleaned up nicely, and I'm quite pleased.

My HP uses the 56/57/58 set of carts, so my experience might not apply
to your situation. Those carts are extremely easy to refill, and as long
as it is done before they go dry they can be refilled numerous times. I
don't have any personal knowledge about the carts for your printers.

That said, I've had very good luck with supplies from 4inkjets.com. They
sell both OEM and remanufactured carts, as well as InkTec refill kits.
Each refill kit is designed specifically for the particular cartridge
involved. I took a quick look and they do carry supplies for your
printers. Remanufactured carts are packed in sealed bags, inside of
boxes, and the whole shipment has been boxed.

I'm using same Canon ip4000 compatible inks for Canon ip4000 and HP 1510. I am
using photo black for black in the HP. I've re-filled the HP carts at least 20
times before the cart succumbed and I was forced to buy a genuine HP cart (which
I'm refilling now )

there are no good refilled carts. only possible leaky ones with used
printheads and you do not know how used they are. there are no good
refill inks.
