After upgrade to XP Notepad malfunction

Since I upgraded my computer from ME to XP, Notepad
malfunctions. In Notepad, Word-Wrap puts a hard return at
the end of every line of type. If I change anything I
have paragraphs of broken lines.
Any Suggestions?

Install the correct version of Notepad from your XP CD. You're
probably still using the version from ME.

Hello CS,
How is it possible to do that? When I installed XP I
don't remember having options to install various programs
or portions.
If I uninstall Notepad and redo the upgrade, I will have
to do the whole deal over. Reestablish my INET account
and etc.
I can do that if necessary, but would rather not.

Expand a new copy from the XP CD via Start/Run/Msconfig/Expand File.
