text; chop up long lines

I get text from various sources that have no line breaks except at the
paragraph.

These lines can be manually converted by putting them in, say, notepad
and
entering returns. Is there a way to do this automatically? I tried
enabling word wrap,
adjusting the size of the window until I got the line length I wanted,
and then
copying the text to another notepad. But to no avail.

Thanks.

(I am hoping this does not require a program like MS Word.)

You could set up a "Text/generic" printer and then use it to "print to
file". Then put the text into Notepad and figure out what size margin
will break the lines at the right place for you. Print to file and use
the extension .txt so you can pop it open in Notepad quick to check the
results.

Use WordPad
