After insert new column excel hangs with not responding

L

Laszlo Gombos

I have about 300000 rows in my table, with 6 columns.
When I delete one column it is not problem, one second.
But when I want to insert a new column between 3rd and 4th, it creates the
new column(s), but starts calculating for unlimited time and not responding.

I have XP SP3 and Office 2007 SP2 installed.
What is the reason, is there any solution for that symptom?

Thanks,
Laszlo

To set calculation to manual in XL2007, select the Formulas ribbon. In the
Calculation section, there is a dropdown for Calculation Options. Select
Manual.

Hope this helps,

Hutch
