Aero Theme Missing

Don't know what happened. Maybe it was after I installed Nero 7, but I lost
my Aero themes. Can't find them anywhere on my computer. What to do??

Some programs are incompatible with Aero, perhaps something from Nero 7 that
is incompatible auto starts?

I find it hard to believe that the Aero team is completely gone, what you're
describing sounds more like the known incompatibility issue.

Hmm... Uninstalling Nero 7 should of course help but lets work with this
auto start issue first. If you open the start menu and type MSCONFIG into
the search field. In the window that opens head for the auto start tab, try
to identify anything related to Nero 7 and uncheck it. Be careful to not
uncheck something important though! Hope this helps.

Linus...

I tried what you suggested, but no luck. Maybe it isn't Nero. What I am
trying to do is turn on Aero. I had it working before, so I am compliant for
Aero. I turned it off while installing programs. like Nero. I am trying to
turn it back on, but there is no Aero in the Themes selections.

Thanks,

Randy

Well, the advisor told me Nero was not compatible.

Even the lastest Nero 7 Ultra Enhanced version which is supposed to be
Certified for Vista?

Is there any way I can reinstall the vista theme onto my system so it is
availble for me to select??

I can't tell you how to get it back, but the latest version of Nero 7 works
ok on Vista in Aero.

Are you sure you are looking in the right place?

Control Panel - Personalization - Window Color and Appearance
scroll down and click on "open classic appearance properties"
aero should be in the list of choices as well as a bunch of others.

I think I know what happened. I believe Nero 7 disabled the Theme Service.
Once I started it on automatic I got Vista Themes back.
