Aero Glass

Brian Donnelly

Hello !

Finally managed to get Beta 2 and has installed flawlessly. Great
looking/feeling OS so far, but I can't seem to get glass to work....

I'm running with a GeForce FX5200 128Mb, upgrade advisor stated that
everything was a-ok for visual effects, but when I place a tick in the glass
box in display properties the display stays the same (pretty but not glass).
Entering display properties again and the tick has been removed.....
I have downloaded the drivers from nvidia.com but still the same. Any
advice much appreciated....

According to nVidia, only the 6 and 7 series cards support Aero Glass:

Modern NVIDIA GPUs from the GeForce® 7, GeForce 6, and GeForce FX series for
desktop and notebooks PCs are all designed with Windows Vista in mind, to
provide users with a premium Windows Vista experience.

I have a nVidia Geforce FX 5200 128 MB AGP card and it fully supports Glass.
Somehow the AERO Glass theme has been turned off.
