Wise choice, a Gig is fine for gaming.
As I understand it, anything above a Gig is useful for high end CAD and imaging programs for professional users.
I still think, but don't know for sure, that having, say, 2Gb of memory may help gaming, but the difference, imo, would be negligible and the bang for the buck just ain't worth it.
