Advanced Find does not find anniversaries or birthdays

Using Outlook 2000. I have anniversary dates and
birthdays listed in my contacts. Say I want to find all
birthdays (or anniversaries) for next month so that I can
send cards out. I use the advanced find feature and
choose the field anniversary (or birhtday) and the
criteria of next month. When I "find now" I get nothing.
I am assuming it is because of the year of the anniversary
date - ie: if the anniversary was 10/13/01 - the date is
really not next month - because it was 2 years ago. I
want to be able to find all anniversaries (or birhtdays)
with the month of October. I tried finding "between
October 1 and October 31" but that didn't work either. Is
there another way to find them - do I need a function or
something in the value field that designates that I am
just looking for the month of October - regardless of the
year? Any thoughts are helpful!

You would need to search the Calendar folder, not Contacts. The contact stores the original date, not this year's occurrence.

Switch to the Calendar folder, and choose Tools, Advanced Find. In the "Search for the word(s)" box, type in "Birthday or Anniversary." Switch to the Advanced tab, and using the Field button, select Start. For the Condition, choose "this month," and then click Add to List. Click Find Now, and you should get a list of all birthdays and anniversaries that occur this month.
