ADVANCED animation questions

Ok, I am making a ppp with a 'digital computer' theme, ie everything looks
like its on a cool computer, so lots of animation of 'windows' opening etc.

Here are my two biggies: I have a cog spinning in the background, it is an
autoshape. I use the rotate emphasis animation and loop until end of slide.
The problem is that to make is rotate slow enough I have had to use a long
animation timeline. To make the next animation in the list work I either
have to wait for the first time run of the cog rotate to finish before the
next animation is processed, or choose BEGIN WITH. but this just starts the
next animation at same time, GREAT, but then the animation after THAT has to
wait for the cog to finish (if its set to begin after. So the only solution
is to have EVERYTHINg set to run at the same time as the cog, which is not
practival for the control I need.

NEXT:
From slide to slide, I would like to see the animation of the cog continue
without 'resetting' to its initial position. Is there anyway to have either
a PERMANANT animation uninterrupted even between slides, OR set an animation
for an object to begin at a preset rotation angle, so that maybe i can read
the finish angle for the previous slides cog, and apply it as the start
angle for the next slides cog.

I KNOW these are technical ideas and could be complicated...any ideas??

Thanks guys

For first problem:
One possible alternative (although not as elegant) is to have an on-click
animation for a shape (say, shape2) just after the cog wheel animation. All
the rest of the animations would use shape2 as reference for time and would
start one after the other leaving the cogwheel to animate in its "own"
timeline.

Another alternative is to use an animated GIF file for cogwheel animation.

For second problem: I don't think I have a clean solution for it.

Skarn,

Taking your 2nd question 1st...
NEXT:

Can't be done IMHO!

thanx guys...I'll check out the sites and find a way around it. The gif
option I tried but the graphics end up looking horrible and the rotation is
incredibly cpu consuming if its in the gif, and using the action rotates
just back where i started..

thanx anyway though :)

I have another question though: is there a way to generate a click event for
a slide without actually having to click/press anything?
