Aduio CD is not reconigzed

I cannot get one of my CDs to be reconigze by Win XP. When I put the disc into the CD-RW drive, it will spin up and down repeatedly, as if the drive is confused and can't read the disc. I've check the underside, and there are no deep scratches or pits. Sometimes, autoplay will come up but I will have to cancel that because it takes forever and it never plays the CD. Should I try the tape technique (where you put two equal lengths of tape on either side of the hole) to make it play? This is the second CD that wouldn't play and it feels light, like the CD was made out of a thinner material than other CDs. Thanks for your help.
 
Nevermind. It's just my CD-RW. I got the CD to play in another computer, and I'm going to rip the tracks and burn them onto another disc so I can rip them onto my computer.
