ADSL Router Modems

Hi,
I would like to know whether an ADSL Router Modem like the D-Link DSL-504G
when connected to a desktop and a laptop via Ethernet cables would also allow
to share files and printers between the two computers?
Thanks,
Rahul

Rahul,

If what you have is indeed a router / modem, you should be able to share files
etc. I can't verify by model number, as "DSL-504G" is not listed on the D-Link
website.

The DSL-504T is an ADSL (NAT) router modem that will allow file sharing. The
DSL-302G is an ADSL modem, that allows you to connect 2 computers to the
internet, thru the Ethernet and USB ports. The latter is not a NAT router,
though, so I can't see how you'd end up with both computers on the same subnet,
nor do I see how both computers would work simultaneously without you paying for
2 ip addresses.
